This 8x11 inch print showcases the traditional ebru marbling technique in a linear feather pattern. Created by floating pigments on water and carefully combing them into organized rows of delicate plume-like formations, this print features flowing shades of purples and oranges arranged in parallel waves across the paper.
The linear feather pattern, also known as "şal" or shawl pattern, is one of the most structured designs in Turkish marbling. Each feathered stroke flows in the same direction, creating rhythmic, wave-like rows that ripple across the surface. This organized arrangement is formed through the ancient art of water marbling, combining precision with the organic movement of pigments on water.
As with all ebru prints, this piece is entirely one-of-a-kind. The spontaneous nature of the marbling process means the exact patterns and color blends can never be perfectly reproduced, making each print a unique work of art.
