This photogravure print captures the ocean using the chine collé technique, where a layer of beige paper is adhered beneath the printed image during the printing process, creating a sand-like border that frames the scene. The image is printed in black ink on blue paper, with the layered papers creating a natural palette that evokes the meeting of sea and shore. The image is 3.5x5 inches on 4.5x6 inch paper.

The photogravure process brings exceptional tonal range and depth to this landscape, rendering the movement and texture of the seagrass with rich blacks against the blue surface.
